IMHO: THESE BIG "POWER HAMMERS" ARE QUITE EXPENSIVE, AND HEAVY!!!.... SOMEBODY OUGHT TO DESIGN A SMALLER, LIGHTER POWER HAMMER, FOR DOING SMALLER WORK, AND FOR FORGING NON-FERROUS METALS....
IMHO: THE AUDIO QUALITY ON THIS VIDEO REALLY SUCKS!!!.... (SORRY!)... YOU OUGHT TO REDO IT ALL, AND CUT OUT/MINIMIZE THAT ANNOYING MUSIC!!!
I've watch a few of your videos this morning. I certainly hope the quality of your videos isn't reflected in the quality of your hammers.
Obviously the smith in the video does a heck of a lot better fit and finish that he does with the flat. I can't say which is better. In isolation this video tells me I better buy some drawing dies. :-)
Is that Paul Beisler at the end?
Looks like someone stole the concept of Uri Hofi (R.i.p.) and took his patented and widely known design to make money. May many lawsuits be your future. Respectless vultures

Your speaker lady seems to have cough stuffed upper respiratory system, please allow clear speaking person for explanations
are you guys paying jason for this i hope
Succinct, and extremely informative. Thank you for making this.
Only drawing dies for me.
Wow, almost a perfect anvil.
Your GIMP skill amazed me, wow
How to purchase one? Any help
Very Good!.
what are the downside of an incomplete basic air line system?

I want this machine how much money
What do you youse to draw this?
seems to me that these hammers look a lot like the Hofi hammers by uri hofi. a shame that you take someone else's design and call it your own.
Great lookin anvil. +1 😄 One minor design quibble is the upsetting block - I wonder what the rationale was for moving it from a more traditional location like the base/foot (where it's both fully supported by the base & stand, and out of the way of the deck) up top to the deck ? Seems like a loss of real estate, and a less secure and less well supported location to my admittedly inexperiencled eye. Less room to swing too. Also, if the hot work were to skitter off the block during upsetting, there's a precarious 12" drop that could let the falling work hit your thigh. Why move it high, and with less support ?
That's a side shelf. You can clearly see the upsetting block on the base on the same side. It's a similar design to a refflinghaus #58.
@@aceystar1478 Thx for explaining. - noob
Spot on ....👍
On a small hammer drawing dies Big hammer flat only
I agree, light hammers work better when force is applied to a smaller area.
My first integral had a lot of “oups” spots. Thanks for showing how to fix them.🙏
Really the best short series on forging an integral bolster knife👍🏼.
What in the hell software from 1995 are you using here? lol
It's GIMP, an open source graphic software. It's dog-ugly, but it works great and it's 100% free. Can't argue with free.
That camera vibration after every blow is really awesome. Anyways thanks for sharing and really informative. :)
Do you offer financing?
What a crook of shot. I thought it was about building a power hammer instead i had to listen to his home baked philosophy lecture and watch a kid have go at drawing a power hammer with e-crayons
Just get a real hammer. A 100lb mechanical hammer forges circles around these turds
How did you determine power of compressor ?
The tool is also useful in unexpected condition.. Is best tool.. The tyre hammer one step ahead comparison with others.. Pheunometic is very heavy and expensive.. Not easy to change. Tyre hammer easy to install, easy to change, more money feedback.
This ain’t the Jason Knight I know!
No respirator hmmm
I've been looking for videos on your big blu forging press. There doesnt seem to be any that detail its capabilities. There is very little on your site about it. What size hydraulic system, are the guides steel on steel or are they aluminum bronze and adjustable for wear. How rigid is it? Does the moving carriage rack if work is done off center? I know I would need to have multi stage dies mounted. Having answers to these types of questions is a start to determining versatility, suitability and value for money for my shop. I know what I'm getting in a four post press in similar tonnage. Is this just a brute forging press or a precision machine? The videos I have seen of earlier versions of this press show excessive racking, galling of the guides and general lack of finesse. Is the new Big Blu better?
Seems obvious. Combination die. Best of both.
How did you temper that? Also, it would be great to see how you go about grinding and finishing the bolster area.
I just noticed that in Jason's old shop, his tongs were actually hung up and in one location. Definitely not the case now! :D
Just all around fantastic stuff i just started forging but looking at your video's I'm learning a lot can't wait for the next video

Well edited. I dig the pedal cam👍🏻
This anvil is no longer available? What a shame! Are you going to sell anvils in the future?
@G Sterling what do you msan by some time in the past
Very knowledgeable person here, you make this look so easy, great videos 👏👏👏👏
One of the biggest things I am learning, is be patient with forging. I'm usually trying to rush the process and end up with a less than refined knife. You are teaching me, patience
That's a lot of shit talking. From someone calling themselves a master. I haven't met many American Smith's who passed their masters smithing program. Weird it's not offered in the states. But whatever
Maybe your ears are more sensitive than most. I only heard constructive instruction.
At 1:56, is that Morgan loitering back there? lol
"...make it smooth and them ruin it!" Welcome to my life
hello how can i get the design software, thanks
Big Blu tongs are the best yet! P.S. my press is taking names.
How much does something like this cost? Very cool machine
